Connecting Your Stripe Account to SOLO Server
SOLO Server uses Stripe to process payments for your software sales. To accept payments, you connect a Stripe account to SOLO Server using a secure link we provide.
You can either create a new Stripe account during this process or connect an existing one.
This is a one-time setup. Once connected, payments for your orders are processed through your own Stripe account, and Stripe deposits funds directly to your bank account on your normal payout schedule.
Before you begin
You will need:
- The Stripe Partner Connect link for your account. Request the link through email using the Get Help button on the bottom right of this page.
- If you are creating a new Stripe account, you will need your business and bank account details. Stripe collects these during signup so it can verify your business and pay you out.
The link we send is unique to your SOLO Server account.
How to connect your Stripe account
- Open the Stripe Partner Connect link from the email we sent you. (Request the link through email using the Get Help button on the bottom right of this page.)
- On the connect page, you will see a heading that reads "Select the account you'd like to connect to SoftwareKey.com."
- Choose one of the following:
- Connect an existing Stripe account. If you already have a Stripe account, it appears in the list. Select it, then click Connect.
- Create a new Stripe account. If you do not have a Stripe account, click Create a new account and follow Stripe's prompts to enter your business and bank information.
- After you click Connect (or finish creating an account), Stripe links your account to SoftwareKey.com and returns you to a confirmation page.
That's it. We'll have one more step to complete on our end, and then we'll email you to confirm when your Stripe account is connected to SOLO Server and ready to process payments.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an existing Stripe account to do this? No. If you do not have one, choose Create a new account on the connect page and Stripe will walk you through signing up.
Where does the connect link come from? We currently email the link to you. It is unique to your SOLO Server account and includes your Author ID, which links the Stripe account you connect to the correct SOLO Server account. A button to start this process from within SOLO Server is planned for a future update.
Can I use a Stripe account I already use for another business? Yes. Select that account from the list on the connect page and click Connect. All SOLO Server sales will then flow into that account.
Who receives the money from my sales? You do. With this Standard connection, Stripe pays out directly to the bank account on your Stripe account, on your normal Stripe payout schedule.
Is it safe to open the link? Yes, as long as it came from us. The link is unique to your account, so do not forward it to anyone outside your organization. The actual signup and connection happens on Stripe's own secure pages.
